AAPP Denver Summit – The most comprehensive program ever offered for new and established private physicians.

As the AAPP events get larger and larger, the time has come for a change. Until now, we have done our best to design a curriculum that would appeal to everyone – private medical veterans and practices that are just beginning to explore the transition to private medicine.

In Denver, we will break with this format and provide four distinct tracks of content:

1. General session presentations for anyone interested in private medicine. Topics will include:

  • An industry outlook and exploration of the evolving demand and value drivers in private medicine
  • Legislative updates from the AAPP and the founder and lobbyist from Qliance
  • A thoughtful discussion on the ethics of private medicine
  • An exploration of emerging early detection technologies and their role in the delivery of private medical services

2. A track specifically for physicians and their practice managers who are considering the transition to private medicine. Topics will include:

  • A panel discussion featuring established private physicians representing a variety of business models that you should consider
  • An in-depth discussion of how to convert a traditional, insurance-based practice to a concierge practice
  • Legal and regulatory considerations when starting a concierge practice

Trajectory LLC Uncovers Healthcare Marketing Insights: Revealing How Women Feel About Their Primary Care Physician Relationships

Trajectory LLC, creating new customer value and igniting new business growth across healthcare, well-being and healthy lifestyle industries, conducted a qualitative survey among its proprietary, HerView™ database to uncover healthcare marketing insights about how women feel about their primary care physician relationships.

The qualitative survey conducted among Trajectory’s HerView™ database participants was designed to uncover for healthcare marketershow women (who are the “chief health officers” for themselves and their families) feel about their primary care physician relationships. How would they characterize the care they’re receiving today; and what other factors play into their opinions?

Five key survey findings reveal the changing nature of the patient and primary care physician relationship. These findings are important for physician practices, healthcare marketers and healthcare leadership. For many patients, primary care physicians represent the front line of the healthcare system or hospital experience and are a key driver of brand perception, loyalty and growth.

So, how do women feel about their primary care physicians?

1. Survey participants understand that their physicians have a long list of patients to see each day. And patients continue to have confidence in their doctors of choice. But from the patient’s point-of-view, it seems that the system has created a “get us in, get us out” mentality. And with this, “personal touch” can sometimes take a back seat, including devoting time to detailed discussions about choices and alternative options.

2. They feel doctors do a good job of taking care of the physical ailments patients and their families are facing. But given the situation described above, patients’ emotional satisfaction (important to cementing a strong patient-physician relationship) is not as high as it should be. We will offer 3 TRACKS OF TARGETED EDUCATION:

Beginners Track: Private Medicine 101 for people considering a transition to private medicine or just getting started. In this track, you will learn:

  • How to convert your practice;
  • The various business models to choose from;
  • Legal considerations with respect to separating from a group to form your new practice;
  • The dos and don’ts of patient contracting;
  • How to finance your launch; and

Advanced Track: The Private Medical MBA. This track has been designed with the help of some of our most successful and tenured members to address the needs of private physician practices that have been up and running for more than two years. We have never attempted to offer a track like this, and have little doubt that our advanced practices will find it invaluable.The room will be set up in round tables. Several of the lectures will be brief followed by round table discussion and synthesis of the collective wisdom of the audience. Topics to be explored include:

  • Adding physicians to the practice: contracting, cultural, and compensation considerations;
  • When and why to add a business manager (CEO or COO) and the differences between a business manager and a practice manager;
  • A lecture on interfacing with the media and a message development workshop to make your media coverage more valuable;
  • Profitable ancillary services and how to incorporate them;
  • Marketing strategies and tactics for patient acquisition; and
